About Me
About Me
Hi, I’m Morgan—a naturally curious, creative problem-solver who has spent my life exploring how things work, both literally and figuratively. From a young age, I found joy in taking apart objects to learn how they worked and was fueled by the belief that with enough time and access to information, I could figure out how to fix or improve just about anything.
This innate curiosity led me to a career in the arts, a field that allowed me to develop a broad range of skills while feeding my passion for exploration. Over a decade of working in the arts sector taught me how to think holistically, solve problems creatively, and build empathetic, intersectional approaches to complex challenges. The arts shaped my ability to bring people together, center diverse perspectives, and foster community—skills I believe are crucial for success in any professional setting.
But I also witnessed the systemic challenges facing the arts sector: financial instability, burnout, and a lack of accessible pathways for artists to bridge the gap between their passion and sustainable practices. These experiences sparked a desire to step back, learn more, and find ways to empower creatives while addressing these broader issues.

This journey brought me to OCAD University’s Strategic Foresight and Innovation program, where I’ve been exploring the intersection of creativity, business, and systems thinking. My studies have reinforced my belief in the immense value that creatives bring to every table, and I’ve worked to understand how these skills are essential in every sector, not just the arts.
Now, I’m on a mission to bridge the gap between the arts and other sectors. I’m passionate about creating pathways for creatives to recognize their worth, contribute their unique perspectives, and thrive in interdisciplinary spaces. While my career has shifted from the nonprofit arts sector, I carry forward my commitment to amplifying voices, decentralizing knowledge, and building more inclusive, equitable systems.
Everything I learn, I aim to share—empowering others to step confidently into any room, knowing their perspective is vital to shaping a better future.
Let’s create something meaningful together.

Small Rituals, Big Meaning
Small Rituals, Big Meaning
Small Rituals, Big Meaning
Life is made up of tiny, everyday moments—quiet rituals that often go unnoticed but hold deep significance. These moments, like morning tea or brewing coffee, shape our days and connect us to ourselves and others.
I offer this glimpse into my daily rituals as a way to foster connection and understanding—going beyond professional exchanges to share a piece of how I view, see, and navigate the world. Sometimes, it’s in the smallest details that we find the deepest meaning.

The Tea Cup
The Tea Cup
The Tea Cup
I’ve had this tea cup since 2018, I purchased it when I moved into my first apartment with my partner. This cup, made by artist Dina (https://oftheearth.art), quickly became part of my effort to build meaningful routines—marking mornings filled with warmth, care, and shared time over cups of tea.
I was surprised by how deeply I was affected when the handle broke a few years into owning it. It felt as if my hard won routine had broken alongside it, yet as my partner glued it back together it, and I, became stronger and grounded. Now I run my thumb over the fine, mended lines as I sip on my morning tea. It serves as a quiet reminder of how care can make us even more resilient.

The Spoon
The Spoon
The Spoon
I have a deep appreciation for a good spoon—and this one is my favorite. It’s a ceramic spoon with a bare, natural wood handle that feels perfect in my hand, like it was made to be held. At first, I was afraid to use it, worried I’d ruin it. Instead, I displayed it, waiting for the “right moment.”

Over time, I’ve slowly learned not to let the idea of a perfect moment get in the way of living. Now this spoon has found its humble purpose as the ideal coffee-grind scoop. It’s oddly specific, maybe even ridiculous, but it’s a reminder that not everything needs to be grand to have meaning—and that sometimes, using what we have is better than waiting for the perfect time.

Positionality Statement

Positionality Statement

I acknowledge that my positionality shapes how I move through the world, build relationships, and make sense of my experiences. As a first-generation post-secondary student, my educational journey influences how I navigate professional and social spaces. Without a familial roadmap to guide me, I am charting my own path in these environments. This experience pushes me to make complex ideas more accessible and meaningful in everyday contexts.
As a white Canadian living in an urban center, I benefit from privileges that shape my daily interactions, from feeling at ease or safe in most spaces to having my voice and perspectives more readily heard. I recognize the responsibility this carries and strive to use my privilege to amplify voices that may be overlooked, while continually reflecting on the systems that sustain inequality. Aiming for equity not equality.

My gender identity as a feminine-presenting person impacts how I experience and respond to social and professional dynamics, particularly in male-dominated environments. It has also provided me with the ability to understand the constant undercurrent of fear of harm that many people navigate in everyday life. This awareness informs how I approach conversations about equity and inclusion in my personal and professional life.
Being neurodivergent also influences how I understand and engage with the world. It sharpens my focus on systems, structures, and communication patterns, allowing me to notice details and perspectives that others might overlook. At the same time, it drives my efforts to create spaces where different ways of thinking and processing information are not only accommodated but valued.
My socioeconomic background shapes how I think about stability, opportunity, and resilience. Growing up with a ground-up perspective has made me deeply aware of how economic and social structures impact people’s lives. It also motivates me to work toward more equitable systems and practices that support accessibility and sustainability.
I carry these perspectives with me every day, reflecting on how they shape my interactions and decisions. I remain committed to challenging assumptions, learning from others, and using my position to build connections and advocate for positive change.
